Alternative(ish) type, originally from North London (still my spiritual home) but lately a resident of sunny Surrey.
Since my mid-teens, I have flirted with various alt. genres – from ‘old-skool’ goth at 15, through grunge/ industrial rock in my late teens to early twenties, to punk/ indie rock in my mid twenties – and my somewhat eclectic CD collection reflects this! In fact, music in its varying forms has provided the soundtrack for my entire life; and the wondrous gem of Camden, with its diverse range of bars, coffee joints, market stalls, pubs, clubs, restaurants, shops, music venues, and most of all PEOPLE, has provided much of the backdrop to my existence over the years – to this day, you can generally find me there on any given weekend.
Unfortunately, working in a corporate environment (a merchant bank) during the week precludes me from dyeing my hair violet, wearing velvet and lace and having lots of body modifications, but it’s not all bad – I enjoy my job as a DTP/ graphics operator, and whilst it is perhaps not the most creatively stimulating of roles, it’s an easy job paying good money, the people I work with (and for) are great, and I love my shift (evenings), which gives me time to do stuff during the day.
I love talking (and listening) to people and finding out about their lives, what they enjoy doing, what makes them tick, etc. However I’m not very brave about approaching people/ making the first move, although I’m getting better. I’ve been to a few ‘Vampyre’ events (Connexion and LVG parties etc) over the past couple of years, and can generally be found sitting in the corner with a friend or two – so if you ever feel like it, please come on over and say Hello!
